Patricia brings a unique perspective to the APDT Foundation. Patricia is a CPDT-KA, a TTouch Practitioner for Companion Animals, a licensed Pet Partner Evaluator, and a certified research administrator (CRA).

Patricia does research on dog behavior, animal assisted interventions and visually impaired/blind dogs. She has trained many blind dogs and interviewed people with blindness to better understand how blindness impacts behavior. She has volunteered with Triangle Beagle Rescue as a foster home and as a board member. Patricia has a solid understanding of canine health issues and how that may affect their behavior. Patricia volunteers with her pet partners in hospitals, prisons, and schools in and around North Carolina.

Patricia has over 20 years’ experience at Duke University where she has extensive budget management experience including all aspects of grant administration.
